Unit Statistics

Post by Obsolete »

It would be nice to bring up a panel to show the full stats for any of my selected units (bigger font & easy to read). I also would like to be able to closely inspect individual enemy units as well.

Experience Ratio = (def exp level + 2)/(att exp level + 2)
Entrenchment Ratio = (def entr rate + 1) /(att entr rate + 1)

The Stats Panel may be good enough, but we need added details on it for suppression count, etc. I want/need to know how much long-lasting suppression I've put on my opponent.

Would definitely be nice to have access to this information somewhere readily available.

Yes, with new rules for artillery seeing lasting suppression becomes very important. We'll add that in several places.

Here is our current idea for the unit screen.

You could add an EXPERIENCE number (total count) next to the stars :P

Looks great, and raises a lot of questions (good ones, like what are heroes and what do they do, and how are awards issued).

I agree with needing experience number somewhere.
Additionally, movement and movement type are pretty important. Movement has had decent representation in the game currently, but movement type still has no representation anywhere.

My current idea is:

Awards are just eye candy, issued for a certain number of kills (as was in real life) and are displayed in unit's profile.

Heroes are similar to leaders in PG2, but as the screenshots indicate, you can have three of them on each unit. Heroes are also bound to kills, but unlike awards appear at more random points, so you don't know when exactly you'll get a hero. But they don't depend on exp at all, so you can get a hero even if you already have max exp, or you play with exp set to 0%. Each hero will improve various unit stats. Certain heroes can appear only if the unit uses a certain equipment type (e. g. Bf109 for Hartmann) and may give their bonuses only to a certain type too. For fighters and tanks we'll use WW2 aces extensively, but for other classes we'll have to settle for fictional characters, hence the more generic term "hero" instead of "ace".

Umm.. I've been doing some historical research for the last year.

I will have to start recording those heroes.

A ship hero would be nice... but use of that won't come until Panzer Pacific.

If you can talk with the Multiplayer internet Guru..... Can you link Awards to online play?

Where your status shows up for number of games won, which side, awards and kills.

Just something to think about for the future.

Edit: by the way I like what I see. Will wait until we use before I comment.
