Suggestion
It would be much easier on the eye and more user friendly if we were to move the statistics data down about two inches. Make the data start directly across from the description of the hex.
This way you eyes go from left to right, in place of looking right then up, then trying to figure out the data.
The blank space on top of the data can be filled in with decorative icons. One showing officers reviewing a map, the next showing a soldier on a phone, and the third a soldier on a typewriter. All of the icons will convey the Army looking at data.
Right now it is difficult to understand the data as you are looking up to the right.
If you hold a piece of paper in front of you with data on it, you hold it level, so you can read left to right.
A person doesn't hold the paper up to the right.

Re: Statistics panel
I agree, but instead of the arbitrary two inches, which could mean different things on different monitors at different resolutions, I would say the stat data should be center aligned.Razz1 wrote:Suggestion

I also like your idea for a little picture to fill in the gap, but I don't know how that is going to look on every resolution, or if there will even be room.
I'm certain the dossier will cover this, but it would be nice to have a button or menu inside of every scenario that would display this information. On a total scale, as well as on an individual unit basis.I would also suggest we have a method to check what units we have killed, or have lost. This becomes especially important in multi-player.
Yes, one needs to know not just land units, but the exact unit classes that have been lost.as well as on an individual unit basis.
One reason I insisted for this in the BBC Academy project, is that when you have 10 games going on at once (for example), you really need a quick way to check how many units both you and your opponent have lost in that scenario. Otherwise, you force everyone to have to jot down kills every time in excel.
If you're still forcing wargame players to use Excel today, then that's a top indication the GUI designers have done something very, very, very wrong...
