My first impressions !!!

Ok at first thanks for a hopefully Great Game,

my first impressure was nice start screen, looks good.

after 30 seconds: - map graphic looks ok\good (i'd like more from PG3d)
- units looks also ok
- Battle screen is a bit confusingly (some buttons are too small)

after 5 min.: - no battle animations a bit disappointing and the ones who are already implemented are not very good
- the speed of some units is (especially tanks) is a bit strange
- the music is ok ( would be nice if you can change the music, i mean some options too choice )
- if you attack a unit the shown symbol of hit and loss ( the hitometer 8) ) is too small
- the sound of the Units if they drive and shoot sounds in parts bad

after 15 min.: - if you moved a unit it should been showed red after for more clearness ( the strangenumber - 10 for example )
- i have to readjust because i thougt it would be more like PG3D, for example the arty is not striking back if a enemy unit attacks a friendly unit and is in
artys range, or the Tank can't overoll enemy infantry units if they have low strenght and much other stuff
- the tutorials are good (especially for newbies), i want to know if you implement a ingame tutorial description who explains step by step (ooohhhh baaaby :P )

after 1 Hour: - i have played the first 5 tutorials and they are good
- the indicator for battle expierience is a bit too small (the PG3d solution was better i like)
- would be nice if you can see the loss & Hit with suppression between battles ( to remind of Hitometer 8) )
- very unclear are the shown strength from units in the margin, it would be better if you click of a Unit and youve seen the strenght of it ( like PG3D)
- the Buy menu could be better ( the button is too small ) and the symbols of a units strenght ( like attack\defend and so on) could be bigger
- the weather is a bit unclear (is there a possibility to show it like small rainy drops or a tiny shine for sun from the edge) symbol a bit greater
- i like the variety of units ( very big thump up )


Overall its a good game, looks good, haven't seen innovations till yet but i let surprise myself.
Mybe i compare it too much to PG3D, cause it was my favourite and i miss some of its here but i'am still exciting what comes.

So many messages are coming to beta forum nowadays, I can't reply to all of them in a timely manner... Sorry Yoghurt86! BTW, interesting to compare the game with PG3, not so many people seem to do that!

What exactly would you like from PG3d, or is it a full-blown 3D engine? :)

The only way is to replace the files in game's folder, I'm afraid...

Arty does provide defensive fire, but it is not well shown yet. If you open after-combat log (L hotkey) you will see it. However, no overruns indeed.

I'm not an expert PG3 player. Can you give a link to a screenshot or something, showing their approach?

What buttons exactly are small? Unit class selection and flags? Anything else?

Once again, it is interesting to compare with any games of PG series, all of them had some good ideas we might want to use. So, please keep this coming. Thanks!

Thanks for interest ive thought my opinions are not important enough :P

At first i read also the other testers impressions and mostly i compare with them, the problems are nearly always the same.

And before i answer, i want to say that i know its not PG3D (or called PG2 do not mistake it with PG3Barbarossa\western assault) but rather a new game, i only thought it would be more like it cause of the great modding scene and i thought it is\was the most popular title of this series.

May you could give me a info what the other testers say, should this game be more like PG1 or PG3D or a new game with contents of them !?

And btw i want to know what for innovations the developer have spoken in compare with the PG titles ???

now its time for the answers !!!! and fogive for my not very good english, i'll try my best 8)

1. the map graphics are a bit too colored, it looks more like Civilisation 2, i don't know if you can change it cause it might be too much work but may you look of a screenshot from PG3d\PG2

2. the speed of the tanks are too fast they beam more through the maps instead of driving and they need animations for its, you only see the same models in different map positions or hex, its for all models not only tanks.

3. music option ok, the arty is striking back ive noticed it, but why not always and sometimes it didn't happened ??? Will it be possible for tanks to do more as one turn as maybe a special ability ???

4. the exp indicator is from 0 to 500, 100 for one line (star) and 100\1 line means strenght _11_ here an example

6. after i see the buy menu again its fine, only the button for buy menu in the combat map in the side is like the other buttons too small.

a question what is with the weather effects and the hitometer ???
