Basing Again....

Post by camlan »

Gents;

This may have already been covered, so I apologize if so. I have based many close order troops on what would be termed double element basing in DBx speak. In other words, 6 or 8 heavy foot on a 60 x 40mm base (for 25mm figures), or 6 or 8 figures on a 40 x 30mm base. Will these basing conventions work in AoW, or it will it be a handicap for me (element removal for instance). Thanks in advance.

From an earlier question I asked you will need some single elements to make change when the odd element gets killed off and also if your BG wishes to expand, which it appears everyone can whilst in combat. DBE bow however are a different matter. It seems some will get mixed bow spear units and some will not.

As elements are removed from time to time it will be necessary to be able to make change for double based elements.

The only troops that don't fight in more than one rank are Knights, Elephants and train.

Hope that helps

Everyone can expand in combat, but there is no advantage in doing so if you are 2 ranks deep, except for knights, elephants and chariots.

Gotcha! Thanks for the feedback. Actually have most of my stuff based for Armati, which deals with sections, rather than elements.
