LT armies marked with a M

I've noticed that some units present in the list of LT armies are marked with a M.
Does anyone know what it mean? :?

I believe that signifies that they a have some type of supporting missle weapon. Example: later heavy foot legions that have light foot bows.

This seems right but why does it apply only in LT?

you're mistaken, a lot of troops in the various books have the "M" of mixed
