And their off and racing..

The slave slugfest almost got off to a disastrous start after winning the initiative and thinking I had not clicked ok ended up clicking again and selecting terrain without checking the options. Worked out ok though with a few mountains but a nice big plain area where the bulk of the battle would unfold (how that was very crowded I'm not so sure). Getting to 650 points with a slave army is tough Alexanders slaves went the route of inspired and field generals..Caesar went the way of troop gens and more mob than a Libyan street rally. Alexanders slaves got off to the better start assaulting the left flank with better numbers and better quality troops. On the other flank Caesars slaves had chosen to scoot around the lake and mountains with a large forces. What they weren't counting on was 4 armoured roman slaves on roids who had taken the high ground first. In a Thermopylae like defense they keep the invading masses at bay for several turns which proved critical. By the time they had rounded the bend my left flank had started to make inroads into the woman and children and the deficit initial points was well eaten into. In the critical centre of the match the inspired Alexander Slave commanders single handed kept the masses at bay..it was a captains knock. In the end my left flank began to envelop Caesars slave centre and from then there was no comeback.

Great game where a few rounds of good fortune tipped the balance in favour of Alexanders team.

Went to a pub quiz long time back in Stoke Newington, London. You would receive prizes for 1st, 2nd. 3rd and last also for the best team name.

The quiz master would ask each team for their name, team Xs captain stood up and aid "I'm Spartacus" another player from another team stood up and said, "No, I'm Spartacus" and so on. They won the prize for the best team name.

At home with the beginning of a flu so taking it easy.
