Malta Fighter Bug

Post by peterjfrigate »

If the Malta airbase is occupied by an Allied air unit prior to the appearance of the 5-step fighter, i.e. prior to the Italian DOW, then when the DOW occurs, the 5-step Malta-fighter goes back into the force pool.

However, when finally placed in the UK, the Malta Fighter is "frozen" - you can't move it or use it or repair it.

cheers,

I was able to recreate this. What's strange to me is that the Malta fighter ended up in the force pool. Maybe it should instead not be created unless the hex is empty.

How were you able to get a British fighter to Malta prior to June 1940? I think that if you don't get the Malta fighter if you send another fighter there first then nobody would do it.

Hi - I was just messing around with sending the UK *bomber* to Malta when I discovered the bug, though it seems to occur regardless of what type of air unit is there, so long as the airbase is occupied. It makes sense to me that the displaced fighter would re-enter the force-pool (this could even be helpful in terms of a safe redeployment for extra air-defense of the UK). I can't imagine why it just sits there, however.

Maybe it can only be placed in Malta?
