pilot manpower recource

Post by Morris »

In GS 2.0 , the airforce unit is nomally effected by the manpower 's level as any other military unit . But there were some situation happened a little bit unreasonable . The situations are as follows :

1 even if you beat down hundreds of English plane in 1939-1940 , since the manpower has not been decreased more than 25% , the new production of the airforce unit will be still in blue or white color . so does the axis !

2 In 1944-1945 , because of the war situation has forced Axis to defence , during this period the Germany's manpower is usually orange or even red , so all new product units are in very low level of the quality & survivability. even if axis had only lost few planes . ( Some player gives up airforce because of the cost of pp & fuel after 1942)

Actually , in the real history , GB won the air battle of England because they saved fighter & pilots at the beginning of the war , & they used them at the right moment to defeat the German's air force . If they lost too many plane & pilots at the beginning , it must reduce the quality of the RAF a lot even if most of the GB manpower were still alive .

Also , one of the main reasons why the Germany 's airforce was totally defeated by the ally airforce in 1944-1945 , was lack of well trained pilots . The same situation also happened in Pacific War . Japan had the same problem (much serious than Germany after Midway ).

Is there possible to set up any connection between the number of the lost planes and the quality of the new product air force unit ? Also we should allow the player to pay some pp to train more pilots for 8-10 turns .

This will request the player to consider about the pilots lose besides the lose of pp & fuel .

Although I would argue that in any game of this scope, pilot and troop training should be controllable by the player, I don't know how the Allies would ever get ashore anywhere.
