Teutoburger Wald - Legions Triumphant Tournament

Post by jonno »

I am interested in players thoughts on this scenario

When I click on it to play I was extremely disappointed in this as a tournament scenario. I can that some might be interested in this. I just don't think it is a good choice for a tournament.

Whatever the outcome from this game, i don't feel I will have learnt anything from playing this scenario.

The first scenario in the tournament - i was very impressed how my opponent handled his cavalry, and tho I lost, I gained something from the game.

This one I will be just glad it is over.

I believe we the players have a significant stake in the game - and if as seems likely there will be more of these tourney's the we should provide feedback on what we want to play.

I like it as a scenario. I think it captures the fear and desperate defence of the Romans as clumps of hardened troops try to hold out in islands against the horde all round - all you need is a howling rainstorm to set the mood.

As a tournament scenario.....I understand your frustration. No chance to manoevre, set up almost in contact on the first turn. This one is really testing your tactics - micro, turning the wrong way or being in the wrong hex can make all the difference.

There is potential for both sides to win....pantherboy is currently using the Roman women and children to great effect against me - I had written them off as targets and huddled them into the centre - wrong move!

Presumably by getting them to rout through your other units?
