Round one: 26th Dynasty Egyptian 650BC-570BC
Or “My brother tried to steal the pyramids!”

A week earlier, to my horror, my brother, Prince Deadtorius absconded with my future queen... Princess Hank-e-Panki. Knowing full well that without her hand in marriage, it would prove difficult to assert my rights to the crown of Egypt.
Without her, the city of Thebes would not give the support; I needed to topple his claim.

Fortunately, this fiend had also taken captive her Mummy, or my future mother-in-law, currently my sister. Who had the present of mind to send a message informing us of where he and his army were presently located.

So earlier today, I arrived with my army at this fertile location, on the Eastern corner. Next to a lake, slightly behind a wooded area I set my camp. Before the sun could burn off the mist I travelled around the wood to an open plain. Hear seemed a good place to deploy the army. To the right were the lake and woods and a few leagues away to the left were woods.

My force deployed, mostly Egyptian, with a few Nubian archers and Libyan javelin-men, they stretched... from the lake right across to and only a few thousand feet from those woods, to the left.

The mist cleared the sound of horse and wheel jarred the quietness. Prince Deadtorius chariots could be seen in the distance heading to just behind the woods on the right, ahead, a guard of Skythian horse archers. But in the distant, a chariot followed some way behind, a field general’s flag fluttered.

Suddenly, his whole army became visible, ahead of our camp a batch of light cavalry appeared, our arrows fired and impacted with such a force (D) they slowed. Behind them crossing the fields were some archers.

Along the line could be seen from left to right...a few Egyptian spearmen, then to my surprise Greek mercenaries, I been duped his army was much larger than I expected. Next to the Greeks were archers, with superior archers.

I estimated, I still had a larger force 55 to 50, but those well trained Greeks would prove a match for my poor Egyptians.
I decided to shunt the army back across to the camp.

His light Cavalry pulled back on the left, my archers advanced fired into his ranks with little reward.
Behind these archers a chariot motionless... on it was Prince Deadtorius field general’s pennant. Their forces moved slowly forward.

His general on the right, chariot began to cross the plain, with his Skythian mercenaries. The other chariots on my right split, one headed west towards my light cavalry who had pushed their way behind the chariot line, the others headed towards the woods to my left and central in front of my spearmen.

Checking my sundial it was only three past.

I decided to advance the spearmen and archers on my right in front of the camp, while still advancing the rest of the army in that right angle direction.

His army now appeared to be shutting to my left... at that moment a second chariot on the left turned and joined the other in pursuit of the light cavalry heading behind his line, perhaps fearing an attack on his camp.
Being of Royal blood I then shouted to the light cavalry... “Give them the boot” that caused a general air of confidence, and cheering from my troops.

The other chariot’s had reach the woods on the right, a small battle between some of my Libyan javelin-men and one of his light cavalry ensued in and around the woods from which we came off second best, but then his light cavalry retired.

It was at the precise moment arrows tore through my guard, I was being attacked by those horse mad Skythian mercenaries. The bounders, was there a prize on my head... what had provoked these scoundrels’.
When I done with these Greeks, Skythian, and Egyptians’ traitors, I going to have a discount sale at the pyramids...and use them for dog food, buy one get one free... and as for Deadtorius...
I was interrupted by more arrows being fired at my person!

The Archie fills the air with almost as many lies as my noble troops have let loose arrows. I have prayed to Anubis to give my strength to knock this unfavoured son down for spreading his poisoned filth about my royal personage and to claim that Hanki Panki was betrothed to him in the first place. Let it be known that even as my chariots ride forth and fill his filth ridden hordes with righteous bolts of retribution that we have already begun to erase his name wherever we find it so that after he has been sent off down the River Nilus to the afterworld that history, Egypt and the world will have forgotten him and his afterlife will be as short as his current life. Soon enough my Greeks will be hanging his armies heads from their spears and then the truth will be dictated to my scribes who are already composing my victory.
Also mother liked me better and he is just jealous :P

Born twin heirs to the illustrious 26th dynasty, prince Kit-Amun and Kat-Amun ruled together in harmony , until their names-sakes brought them to blows. There would either be his highness Kit or Kat , not Kit Kat (which would bring snickers in the court, despite being a delicious and popular Phoenician treat)

Kat (TGM)
32/52

Kit (PG)
50/42

Despite the decisive victory, rebel prince Kit was known to have made his escape to Germania with his loyal companian D Hasselhoff

I was tricked by the clever placement of the royal harem in front of my chariots - by the time those boys had finished the rest of my army had fled.

My chariots have decided to ignore orders and anarchy off to their deaths on a regular basis, a feat that has only been matched by 3 steady units that 1 auto broke and took the other 2 with him, not to mention disrupting the rear support guy to boot. Osiris may have abandoned us but mother still liked me better :P
I can only hope that my infernal brother Arch ah motep suffers the same problems with charioteers who wish to move onto the after life sooner than later.

Note to self, mercenaries are overpriced and are not as anxious to put you on the throne as the local boys are. Aside from anarchy from the chariots my overpaid Greek mercenaries did not put up the expected fight, at least one but I think it might have been a few more, dropped right to fragged after a melee with Archies troops, the poorly equipped Egyptians gave the boys in shining armour a fair drubbing. Oh well live and learn. Thanks for the game Archie and glad you enjoyed our royal banter, perhaps I will do better in the next round

I don't think it is paired game , as its a civil war i don't think it would be needed.... ?
