Medieval War Wagons

Post by Polkovnik »

I've picked up a couple of War Wagons that I will use in a Medieval German army. They are classed as Crossbow, Heavy Weapon. I'll put a couple of crossbow armed figures in each, but would it be appropriate to put figures on the base also. I was thinking maybe a horse handler type figures by the horses (how do they actually move ?), and one or two armoured foot, to represent the heavy weapon capability. What figures would be appropriate for these ? The scale is 15mm and I'm pretty sure the war wagons are Essex.

Essex EMED range has German halbardiers, spearmen and flailmen, also handgunners. EMED 1-10 are the "German and Bohemian" figures in the line. Or you can use stuff from their MER line. Depends on the look you are going for. The MER stuff is for a little later than Hussite war era. What other figures are you using? What is the time frame for the army? The Essex war wagons are not the best wagons out there, but if you already have them...
