Has the drawn game been abolished?

Post by stockwellpete »

Just finished a LT game where my Batavians were getting really hammered by the Romans - but by various skulduggerous and devious means I managed to get to the end of the 24th turn with 3 break points remaining (when my heroic army would have been forced to leg it).

I was then told three different things by the various screens - that I had been marginally defeated ( , slaughtered more like); that I had achieved a draw :D ; and that I had been defeated (in the roster of results screen).

Of course, the victory conditions state that an army must break to achieve victory - so did I get a draw?

He has been told he has won, but I keep telling him it is just Roman propaganda! In the recent leagues the result would be a draw because the victory conditions have not been met.

I've had a run of draws recently so they still happen

Since you have installed LT though? Why did I get told I had suffered a "marginal defeat"? I have never seen that before. :?

I have just finished a game where both sides exceeded their break points total in the same turn and that is showing as a draw in my results roster. So my question is now just about those games where neither side "breaks" by the end of turn 24. Thanks.

I have never sean that before either, was it a paired match btw?

Either that or your computer is self aware and is telling you how it really feels about you....

I believe games that run out of time are considered draws.

No, it was just a single match, TGM. A draw is what would have been the result in the current league season, but I was wondering if the developers wanted to change things a bit to penalise negative play. Personally, I would rather things stay as they are. I felt quite chuffed to get my mangled Batavians through to the end of the game without being broken by the Romans.
