TESTUDO MINIATURES - NEW UK DISTRIBUTOR

Post by petedalby »

As you may have seen already on the FoG:R Forum, Giuseppe Rava of Testudo Miniatures has very kindly agreed to let me distribute his excellent miniatures in the UK.

Hi ancients include a 25MM Tannenberg range and in 15MM, Romans & Gauls. You can check out the awesome 25MMs on photobucket, together with the 30YW range:

We don’t have photos of the 15MM ancients at the moment but Mark Kernan of the OneTreePainting Service rates them as ‘stunning castings’ and ‘something special’.

Here are a couple of Mark’s photos to illustrate the point:

In bringing these figures to the UK market I have looked at the pricing of similar quality figures – Xyston, Corvus Belli, Venexia, Mirliton etc – all of which are at the top end – versus the staple of the UK wargaming scene – Essex.

The good news is that my prices will only be pennies more than Essex per figure – and cheaper than all of the other manufacturers I’ve mentioned.

If you’re playing or collecting in this period – you deserve to have figures of this quality – so treat yourself.

This is a new venture for me and initially I will not have a website. I am just about to place my first bulk order and it would be great to hear from you on what figures and volumes you might be interested in with no obligation. Please email me at peterdalby@talktalk.net If you are interested in any of the Testudo ranges please let me know.

You can view the full Testudo range at their own website here:

http://www.g-rava.it/opere/testudo_tannenberg_eng.htm

My 15MM Ancients prices per pack will be as follows:

Foot (10 figs) - £3.60
Foot Command (varies) - £5.20
Horse (5 figs & 5 horses) - £4.00
Horse Command (6 figs & 6 horses) - £5.20
Personalities (varies) - £5.20
Artillery (2 pieces & 4 figs) - £6.00
Chariots (1 chariot, 2 figs, 2 horses) - £6.00

The 25MM figures will be per figure:

Foot - £1.50
Mounted - £4.00
Personality - £4.50

The only other cost to you will be UK postage which will be via Royal Mail and commensurate with the weight of your order. I will invoice you via Paypal.

I hope to hear from you soon – go on – you know you’re worth it!

Cheers

Pete

Hi, is it true that these are more 18-20mm castings than 15mm?

Until I get my hands on them I can't say for sure but I suspect they will be similar to Xyston. I will be getting my hands on a figures from the entire range so that you can see what you're buying.

Great photo

I have some of the Romans and the TYW figures. Comparable in size to Xyston - and fantastic figures. Now I just wish there was an US distributor.

Thanks very much Peter. I'll ship to the US if it's not prohibitive for you?

Those are great news! The price will be especially competitive (last time I checked those miniatures were much more expensive than any other manufacturer). By the way, in the website it says that they come in package of 10 miniatures all in single pose (15mm Roman legionaries). Are you thinking about selling them in that format or there will be some mixture of different models? For the Romans there are many references but if all come in the same pose for every reference, it is not really interesting for those needing less than a hundred miniatures.

Thanks for the positive reaction Strategos - happy to ship to Spain too as long as the P&P isn't too expensive for you?

On splitting the packs - something I might consider. I need to get my hands on the figures first before I make a commitment though.

I'll check the rates and see if they are not too expensive. Anyway, new distributors are always good news.
