charging new unit in pursuit

Post by erricolaw »

Hi all, when pursuing a routing enemy unit, if I hit a new enemy unit, I must weel to maximize the base in contact/melee or I must charge straight forward?
Thanks.

You just keep going in the direction of pursuit. You never need wheel to maximise the number of bases contacting. But you may not wheel to reduce the number of bases contacting.

putting the arg into argumentative, except for the lists I check where there is no argument!

Thank you, but I can weel to maximize the base in contact,
Ex: to touch with 2 or 3 base and not just with 1 only base?

Not when pursuing. You are in contact with the routers until you make contact so have no chance to wheel, although you would step forward into contact where required, even if this meant stepping forward into contact with the routers again.

This was actually one of the disagreements put forward by I believe a NZ or AUS. IE a unit could wheel as much as it wanted in the pursuit. The umpire and the rest of the world disagreed with them. If it was allowed it would make pursuits even more powerful. As people could nip and wheel to catch or avoid as they choose.
