Love the game, interested in extending into managed campaigns.
One thing that comes up in my thinking on this....
How can I replay a game?
That is...two players have played through a scenario....
I want to run the game out in a window and watch it play out (automated)
Given the individual turns + engine will play out each individual turn--
is it possible to build a script which passes an inventory of ordered turn files
to the engine on demand so the game plays out by itself?
Has anyone looked put something together to Drive the Game engine to do this?
thanks--- appreciate seeing some creative code solutions showing up...
this could be fun...

I think it'd be popular...
We -- the humble players -- could be saving files with name standards "Axisturn1.xxx, Axisturn2.xxx" etc.
into folders...either with direction (initially) or a button (eventually).
Being able to play back a game and watch it play out quickly after spending days doing individual turns
I think holds some attraction...
Love the product.
Look forward to creating ruby based tools which automate creation of some of these
needed Scenario and map files in support of
Campaigns within larger strategic maps.... This capability to REPLAY (even perhaps with the AI on one side...)
would be invaluable in such a pursuit...
thanks---
(looking to take the Stalingrad factory....you know the one....)

Old Games
Yes, it hit me today--- I wanted to go back and snapshot something
from a game I played recently....
and there is no way to do it--- no way to review/play/even open an old game...
So...IF we wanted to, it might be an option to save the game turns on our computers.
Then, with the right "glue" we could run a program that ran each turn, as each player---and
we could watch the game unfold, and take snapshots, etc.
One thing you have to recall--- You may not know you want record of an incident until it has passed...
Today, you're lost if you aren't recording, you can't go back...but, if we can replay--- we can take
advantage of capturing worthy moments to SHARE AND PROMOTE THE GAME....
Slitherine guys--- Think how many new users we could recruit when we can go back and capture
"worthy moments" at whim...NOT only if we happen to think of it BEFORE they happen....
I wanted to show an old SquadLeader buddy my King tiger killing shermans at range---but no luck....
no way to do it unless I capture every moment of every turn....
With this facility...if I know it happens during a turn, I can replay it and capture and send...
IMAGINE THE PROPAGANDA we can create...montage of the defense of Bastone, the crossing of the rivers....cool.

Save on local
Any way we could save these local?
lots of new exploration here--- but, just thinking it'd be very nice to run the games from scratch locally, not being
dependent on connection--- have to make sure people aren't doing it MID-GAME, only After completion of game...
OR
Have a "Game in progress" mode, where you can repeat turns AS YOU SAW THEM (seeing only what you would
see when an opponents move replays) and Your own previous moves replayed...
AND
Have a "Game Finished" mode, where you can see both sides openly....
May need "Step" function, even a "back step" (goes back one pieces move)
thanks for looking at the idea.

Understand...
Build software for a living, so I hear you.
I think you could get close with minor tweaks and some glue...
But,
I'm heartened that I'm not a lone nutcase wanting something that's crazy and not
understood by anyone (or that at least there are other nutcases out there like me....one or the other is ok...)
thanks!
