I hope that those selected for this beta are allowed to forward copies of the beta rules to others to use. If not, it really restricts playtest.
For example we have 5 or 6 local players here and I am guessing that only 1 or 2 (Dan and Ethan?) got accepted into the beta. If they are not allowed to share out the rules then they can only playtest with each other.
From what was said earlier, I think that the intent of restricting the official participation is to keep input manageable. If so, then perhaps the restriction on official beta participants should be kept to those that are allowed to provide input to the beta forum. They would also be able to collect local obsservations as a whole and provide that input.
Of course it may be easier if the writers jsut went ahead and sent copies to all that registered for the beta and accepted the NDA. They could still restrict input and access to the beta forum to official testers.
Thanks,
Bill

Well you weren't in the list of registered potential beta testers that JD showed me. Jacques was.philqw78 wrote:Its not you and me Jacq, though they may want our opinion occassionally.bahdahbum wrote:I do not know .
Either it is a player that uses "winning armies" - yes that exist. Or someone as myself who do not care and uses an army for fun ...( Champa/Khmerr with 8 BG of elephants ) and do not always get to the top
And I always give mine freely
However, the "rules" of the beta allow others to play with the official beta tester, just not to copy the (fingerprinted) document. So you can play with the light-horse-loving Daves (Ruddock & Redhead) at least.

I remember you poked me in the chest and told me to sign up. I'm very bad at following advice. Worse with orders.rbodleyscott wrote:Well you weren't in the list of registered potential beta testers that JD showed me. Jacques was.

Nevertheless, we would very much value your input. It has been useful in the past (Carthage nothwithstanding).

By the way my comment was for the fun . But I really like to test as many armies as I can and prefer funny armies .

I received my copy of FOG 2.0 but I still don't have access to the beta forum.
Who shall I contact to get this access ?

Same for me
I've sent an email to JD and response was that if I am logging in from the same account from which I sent the initial request, then I should have access. I only have one account, but I don't have access.
I'm playing in the Battlecry FOG tournament in Auckland on Feb 19/20, along with five other members of our gaming club. One of us was accepted as a playtester so we plan to use exactly the same armies from the tournament with the new rules, it should be a useful test.
Between us we have around twenty armies so we are set up for lots of fun for the next few months (years???) trying them out with version 2.0.
