All bases will get some grass as the middle front rank base, but slightly greener.

I kind of suspected that. Unfortunately miniNatur is very hard to find in Madrid. I have seen the Army Painter, similar, but not the same effectively. So I guess I will have to get some of those one time somehow. Thanks for the information!Mehrunes wrote:Hi, thanks for the comments.
The static grass comes from miniNatur, a german company that is specialised on such things.

Army Painter has similar grass:

You should try doing more shading on the horses and also put some markings on them like stockings and blazes to liven them up. At the moment they definitely suffer by comparison with how well you've painted the riders. Horses should be fun to paint with all the variations in marking and colorings that occur naturally. Well done horse are also likely to be especially appealing to most womenMehrunes wrote:Update:
Bedouin Lancers. According to Head, the wore predominantly reds and blues. I hope you like 'em.
They will get grass later, too.
A very effective technique I have used with horses is painting them with brown colours very watered. This makes that the upper parts look highlighted without the need for drybrush. After that I apply bitumen of Judea disolved with White spirit, that I clean finally with some White Spirit. And a few white strips in the front and the legs help to improve the feeling of "more alive".Mehrunes wrote:Well, it's no fun for me painting horses.
They are drybrushed which cannot be seen very good in the picture and also the modelling is pretty flat on the horses.
Most can be done on some of the legs which is also not in the picture.
Some time in the past I decided not to keep me busy with stockings or blazes on 15mm horses. I want to get an army ready, so perhaps later my girlfriend will add some (she has better knowledge of these things anyway).
Thanks for your comment regardless.
Hehehe it does nothing to do with the Ku Klux Klan either.Mehrunes wrote:You do what? Has that something to do with praying? After that I apply bitumen of Judea disolved with White spirit
Seriously, what is that?
