round 1
TheGrayMouser (Lysimachos) 41/62
vs
Blathergut (Ptolemy) 62/59
The Lysimachids attached blow up party girl bubblettes to the end of their pikes which distracted the Ptolemaics who kept jumping at them (and onto the pikes)
Thanks for the game!

This one is just for Diadochi period armies and was originally meant for four, but expanded to six (which is sort of clunky). I would be happy to have you join in. We could expand this to eight for a true three-round match. We're sort of running out of options for armies though.
I suppose Hellenist Achaians (played as a pike rather than MF horde army) and Gallatian (Seleucid War) would fit in OK. Would one of those work for you? Or can you think of a better IF book choice? And can we get another volunteer to make it eight?

Actually, I suggested Pyrrhus since he coincides with the end of the Diadochoi period with the start date of 280 B.C. He was a contender for control of Macedon before Antigonus Gonatas finally established the Antigonid dynasty in control of Macedon (which is the start of the IF Macedonian successor list). (The straight Pyrrhic list or Pyrrhus in Greece would be the ones to cover the fights between Pyrrhus and Antigonus Gonatas.) It's unfortunate that the FoG PC lists don't cover all the early successor options that the TT lists have, e.g. no options for Eumenes, or Antigonus Monopthalmos and his son Demetrius.deeter wrote:This one is just for Diadochi period armies and was originally meant for four, but expanded to six (which is sort of clunky). I'll be happy to run the Achaians instead if you're happier with that although they are out of period (start date is 146 B.C.).

Sorry, tofman. I've invited Morbio in as Carthage (pre-255) so we're set, but I'll be setting up another themed tournament later on and would love to have you join.
Now that we have eight players, the top four from round one will play each other for round two, with the top finishers facing off for the championship (and control of the Diadochi world.)
Do I need to post a complet list of players?

Oops, I just picked up one of your challenges and then realized I can't use Pyrrhic against you since you restricted it to IF armies and Pyrrhus is RoR.TheGrayMouser wrote:Well, Morbio and Bates, noone has picked up the 3 challenges i have sitting out there so feel free to grab em!

I assume Morbio is using the pre-275 BC Carthaginian list from IF so I'm the only RoR army. (Alternatively he could be using the pre-235 BC army from RoR.)deeter wrote:Sorry, tofman. It's the the pre-235 BC army from RoR, so I'll need any challenges to me to be RoR compatible.batesmotel wrote:I assume Morbio is using the pre-275 BC Carthaginian list from IF so I'm the only RoR army. Just to update everyone, here is the final list of Diadochi hopefuls:
1. kilroy -- Seleucid
2. gudin -- Macedon
3. Blathergut -- Ptolemaic
4. TheGreyMouser -- Lysimachos
5. Deeter -- Ipsos Alliance
6. grumblefish -- Hellenistic Spartans
7. Batesmotel -- Pyrrhus (RoR)
8. Morbio -- Carthage (pre-235) (RoR)
Hopefully, these armies are all plausible opponents in the Diadochi era. Please note the last two are from the Rise of Rome lists, so issue those challenges accordingly and post all results here. Once again, I'm in slow play mode, but will try to turn my moves around as quickly as possible. Good luck, Srategos!

I'm using the Pyrrhus in Greece list rather than straight Pyrrhus. I'm not sure the former can even get to 650 pointsdeeter wrote:Just to update everyone, here is the final list of Diadochi hopefuls:
