Casualties Representation

Post by firepowerjohan »

The statistics section of the game is one of the parts we are working on that are not finished.

One particular issue seem to have different opinion between ppl. Casualties.

We could display casualties either in units, real numbers and real numbers without rounding. We would like to hear which version players prefer

i) "Infantry 14"
meaning abstract casualties as in losing 14 strength points or 14 units or whatever we decide is best.

i) "Infantry 1 434 329"
meaning to roughly simulate real WW2 numbers from history

iii) "Infantry 1 434 000"
same as ii but rounded.

id have to pick the second one, i understand very little of what you said, but i think the numbers w/o rounding would be the best
hope it helps ;)

I'd be happier with the points loss summary as I think any relationship to "real" casualties is arbitrary.

I voted for points loss summary? So one point is 100,000 casualties or 100k as they say today. Not sure what I'm voting for because I'm not sure if a German 10 'unit' is really the same as a Soviet 10 'unit'?

I really like option 2 for the more casual players. I realise some players would like actual SP though, so I would like an option to toggle between the two.

I voted 2, i'm into stats! and i would rather see real numbers than fake figures.

Actually i'd like to see both to be honest, so....

Infantry loses 14 strength/1,434,429 casualties for example.

I totally fail to understand your explanation of the choices...

Would u rather want to have a statistic showing that a country lost 20 units or 2 010 550 men?

I think id like the 2 20328 2032 or whatever, but that means how many men you lost right?
and the other one would tell how many units (or groups of men) you lost?

Id have to go with the men
