Bow * charging

Can't find a previous answer on this and although I think I know the answer I wanted to check.

Do bow* still have to CMT to charge non-skirmishers?

I know that the Impact support specificaly excludes bow* but the missile armed troops charging section does not mention bow*.

Seems bizarre that a troop type that only uses the bow as a secondary weapon may not charge even if it's their preferred tactic to do so, like Tupi.

The rule applies only to non-shock MF armed with bow, longbow, crossbow or firearm. It does not apply to bow*, javelin, or sling armed MF.

Correct, bow* is not bow. If is was then bow* would get support shooting when they are charged which they don't.
