New Unit

I had received a banner message that said, I had a new unit ready, a Sargent.
Trouble is I am unable to find him for deployment.
Is it really ready now or is it for the next round, and if so, how would I be able to attach him to a unit?

Which mission and campaign did this happen in? Could it be refering to the Drill Sgt bonus which allows you to train up a unit, giving them instant promotion?

Just target the unit like you would an airstrike or bambardment. Same for all the unit unit bonuses you get on the bottom left.
