Help Identify these late medieval figures

Post by teboj17 »

I just won these on an ebay auction. The seller said they were Donnington Hundred Year War figures but the are clearly not and are more in the era of War of the Roses. These are 15mm and there is a WR on the bottom of the figure and a one or two digit number. They have great detail for 15mm. I tried to look at all the manufacturers website but was unable to find anything that looked like these.

Cannot see much there but I can tell you that it is the same plastic bags as Donnington use and it has similar notation and a New era label.

Maybe a note to Donnington will help he`s a nice guy and I am sure will help out, They look like his to me.! Could be his WOTR armies from when he first introduced them. Which funnily enough I have that army unpainted in exactly the same bags on my "to do" shelf.

I now noticed the actual figure photo and Have to admit-----I am totally clueless, But the drummer figure is a position that I know from other stuff but cannot remember who makes it. The horses do not exactly match any of Donningtons. All I can say is they look good so paint `em up :P I am just wondering if they are really really really old Donnington. As the drummer stance is very much akin to some of my really old Donningtons.
Sorry to be useless but I did give it some time

Someone also said that they possibly could be old Front Rank 15mm War of the Roses. The seller said that he had gotten them from a friend back in England about 15 years ago. I was also thinking if they could have been old Donnington. The sculpts are really nice and have a lot of detail.

I think they're definitely the Front Rank range. I had some years ago and the poses look very familiar.
