better Armour POA ?
Example:
3 bases of Heavy Armour horse with sword capabilty are in front melee with a pike/shot BG ( shot /pike/ shot , unarmoured, armoured , unarmoured and are Steady)
by definition the shot wings will be "protected shot"
what are the Poas per file? from the melee chart this is how i interpret:
horse vs the musket files will be net 0
because of:
* pike or protected shot get + vs mounted
*horse has better armour + (against any except SHOT) *******this is what I am not sure of, are these guys "protected shot" or "shot" by definition for this POA
horse vs the pike file will be 0
*same as above
******************
I would assume if the rules meant "shot" And "protected shot" under the better armour POA it would have said so?
If I am wrong then the horse files in contact with the shot wings would be - in melee, but equal ( net 0) to the pike file?
maybe Im intrepreting to much but isnt the concept ot "protection" that the muskets are sheltering with the pike and forming i guess a temporary "hybred" unit

The rules/game do give the right "feel." We had carbine-armed Parliamentarian horse up against Royalist artillery and foot BGs today and the extra shooting paid off. We also had a BG of Royalist horse (pistol/pistol) charge into a pike/shot BG in a desperate attempt to save the day...but it made the Parliamentarian day.
So normally horse doesn't want to hit the foot, but if they do it's not horrendously terrible, at least at first. Whoever disrupts will probably go down fast, the hohrse going faster since they only have 4 bases.
Dead. was actually nervous when he saw my carbine-armed horse and a commanded shot BG lining up opposite one of his pike/shot BGs.
Made him forget the nice plump hill on his right flank and he dropped his arty in front of that pike/shot BG.
Am finding the carbine horse to be very nice stuff.

In today's game, Dead. rolled three (or maybe four) "snake-eyes." Two of those were for BGs seeing friends break.
I think all told in todays game, he rolled that three (maybe four) times and I had at least two as well. We must have both offended just about every god possible before the game started!!!

It started so well with 2 6's for arty firing at Blatherguts horse, after that it was all down hill. I lost 3 bases in one turn from 3 units to shooting death rolls. having 2 units roll snake eyes for seeing their buddy in the middle break and both going fragged pretty much spelled game over for me
Called it after that as my center was gone and Blatherguts horse had free reign to move through the gap and into my rear all along my line. The Poodle flag flies at half mast...
