Evaders retreat off map

I apologize in advance if this has been covered already:

In S&S expansion, starter battle in MP and SP, we noticed my Mongol units evading and retreating right off the bottom of the map. Is this right, as they weren't routed. Thanks.

Evaders will run off map if they have nowhere else to go. You get 1 pt for them.
