Osprey

Post by IainMcNeil »

Hi guys,

just wanted to post in the beta forum that we've announced that The Art of War is going to be published by Osprey Publishing! :)

This is great news for the project and helps ensures we'll deliver a top quality set of rules.

It is a great news to know Osprey is involved in the project; however, maybe the expected publication date is too late !!!

Francisco.

Thats fantastic news. :D
I'd much rather wait longer for a better result...and that truly is a result! What a fantastic way to bring people into a great set of wargaming rules!

How much more can you tell us? We want to now everything, of course. For example:

What will the format of the book be? The standard Osprey size and production values?

What is Ospreys level of comitment?
  • Promotion on their Web site?
    A mention in relevent publications?
Additons to relevant 'Men-at-Arms' titles: 'Painting AoW Figures'?
Suggested order of battle in their 'Elite' Series (eg 'The Spartan Army' and 'Alexander'?
Suggested orders of battle/scenarios in their 'Campaign' series?
A 'Building and Painting an AoW Army' title?
A 'Building and Modelling AoW Terrain' title?
Oooo, I'm excited now!

I'll keep the questions coming, just in case:

Will it be coming out under the Osprey brand directly, or as an imprint?
Will we see it on those revolving rack thingies in high street bookstores?
Will some of the stuff I asked about presviously be made available via a website, so we don't have to wait for new editions?
Can I volunteer for future beta testing of everything?
