commander-in chief not obeying his own orders - redux

Post by omarquatar »

in a game of Dyrrachion today the emperor alexius, being placed in second line on a hill, madly charged the approching enemy, gloriously impaling himself on a norman spear. In other words, he first wisely gave orders to his units to wait for the enemy in a favourable position, then committed suicide charging alone against a phalanx of spears.
this behaviour by an army commander is totally unplausible, as everyone can see. i again urge the designers to remove the possibility of anarchy charges for the C-in-C. the alternatives are: put the commander in a non shock troop unit (often ahistorical) or keep him well behind the battleline (not always possible and it means renouncing a - often superior - BG)
