Artillery Movement (pivot)

Post by RPHUey »

Page 57 says "Unlimbered medium or heavy artillery (and light artillery in Difficult Terrain) can normally only move by a single pivot on any one corner of the battle group's formation."

The Simple And Complex Moves chart on page 56 for artillery says "Pivot forwards up to 1 MU on one front corner of the battle group".

The Move Distances & Terrain Disorder chart of the QRS says "*Pivot only on either front corner of battle group".

The charts and text don't seem to be consistent with each other.

Questions :
Can artillery pivot BACKWARDS, or only forwards as per the chart on page 56?
Can artillery pivot on a BACK corner of the battle group?

Nothing that I know of can move backwards. All movement is from front edge/corner.

I believe the complex move test refers to captured artillery trying to turn 180 degrees to face its former owners. Otherwise its forward pivot only.
