cannot install from CD/DVD

Post by czechmate »

I purchased FOG and FOG Immortal Fire over 2 weeks ago- inability to complete the downloads prompted me to purchase the backup CD/DVDs from Plimus, and they arrived on 24th, but...

when I punch "Install Now" button on the window from the Autorun of the CD/DVD, I get a flash of a blank CMD window (or a DOS window, if you wish), and then nothing...

I have moved the files over to the HDD of my computer and tried install from there with same result; I have followed the Plimus report path for inability to install software, but have yet to hear back from them-

is there something simple and basic in my system that is preventing this install?

I run on a Windows XP system--

thanks in advance for any help

more info-

was able to freeze the DOS window from auto closing under program properties-

when i try to run field_of_glory_1.3.3, the DOS window opens up and tells me "This program cannot run in DOS mode"-

is the program supposed to install from DOS? by the way, the icon for the program is the generic icon for an *.exe file

any ideas out there- i would love to play the game on computer; have been playing 15mm Seleucids since the rules came out

Have you tried searching the disc for a setup file and starting that?

disk contains "Autorun" file, and the *.exe file for the game; install through Autorun or directly by running *.exe both yiled the same result as described earlier.
