Download not working - Access Denied error in XML format

Post by TopoSolitario »

Hi there, I just bought BBC Battlefield Academy and Blitzkrieg expansion... my problem is that I can't download.

I replied to slitherine (pl_support@slitherine.co.uk) and contacted Plimus customer support... but actually it seems like a weird and irregular error as it pops to an XML "Access Denied" page when I try to download, not to a well formatted error page.

It is really disturbing to buy a downloadable game and not being able to play as soon as you buy. That is extremely frustrating, as today I can stay at home all morning (that's why I got the game today) but I'm not really sure to have that much time to play soon... :(

I hope some of the services (slitherine support or Plimus) will solve the problem soon, but as other people say... I'm used to get the games in Steam, and have to wait for a "human" responese is annoying! :(

Anyway... thanks in advance.

We've looked into this, and Plimus should have sent an email with an updated download link to anyone effected by what appears to have been a transient issue. Please let us know if you don't recieve your email.

Cheers

Hi there, it is working now... what I didn't liked is that Plimus first reactivated a couple of times the download and had me trying here and then instead of admiting the system failure... and that was like that for hours :(

Have you thought about publishing in Steam? Are they fees prohibitive? I think Steam reaches a LOT of people and works EXTREMELY well (even to avoid piracy).

It's something we are investigating, although it is not as easy as one might imagine it should be.

Cheers
