Tournament Structure
Each team will consist of 4 players, one for each period. The periods of play are:
1st Period, Biblical Era: 3000 BC- 459 BC
2nd Period, Clasical Era: 458 BC - 493 AD
3rd Period, Dark Ages: 494 AD - 1149 AD
4th Period, Middle Ages: 1150 AD - 1500 AD
Round Length
Each round is 3 hours and 30 minutes plus 3 - 15 additional minutes in duration. (Yes, I have 5-sided dice!) When time is called, players complete the current phase and then calculate points.
Armies
Any painted armies based according to the 15mm standard for Field of Glory are welcome! Armies are limited to 800 points. Figures must reasonably represent the troop types as described in the rules and the army lists.
Tournament Scoring
The standard scoring system for winning or losing a game will be used.
After all four rounds have been played, the team with highest score of all games combined will be declared the winner. If there is a tie, the sum of the scores of the players' opponents will serve as tie-breaker, with the player having been opposed by the higher scoring players winning the tie. There will be multiple prizes.

Happily nothing requires a shot of Jager. That stuff is nasty. On the other hand, just about anything you do can result in a nice sip of bourbon (if Steve Payne is on his game) or a slug of beer. Damn the TSA for prohibiting me from bringing along a bottle of my favorite.imanfasil wrote:I lost my copy of the tournament rules... what all requires a shot of jagermeister? Killing an opposing commander, sacking an enemy camp, breaking an enemy BG, Winning a game, Winning initiative roll? Sadly I expect to be drinking nothing but water until later rounds!

OK The judges have reviewed the lists and here are the initial comments edited to (hopefully) avoid giving anything secret squirrel away.
New Orleans
Etruscan League, 501BC - Bob has found a list in there that certainly surprised the judges, we like the cut of his jib. Unlikely to draw and we will watch with interest as to how he does.
Late Republican Roman, 70BC - Walt's list has a hint of being drawn up based on the figures available rather than on effectiveness.
Early Hungarian, 1071AD - the Early Hungarian list has the speed and punch to trouble nearly all opponents and, therefore, do well. Hilton on the other hand ...
Swiss, 1476AD - the judges were unanimous that the Swiss are an army given to a player whose role is not to lose and bank some steady points. Whilst this one has some nice tweaks we can't see it going much beyond its usual role.
Overall - not going to set the world on fire.
Area 51 Kommandos
Early Nomad, 900BC - what can you say. It is a contender for the Balls of Steel award, but otherwise a mass of underwhelming troops. PBI could be a vital roll.
Late Republican Roman, 52BC -“ little we can say about this without giving the game away I'm afraid.
Early Byzantines, 540AD - we nearly, but didn't, quite like this list, although admittedly it is a difficult one to draw up. Missed a trick or two in composition in our opinions, and may suffer because of that.
Black Sheep or White Sheep Turkoman, 1470AD - a useful army in the hands of a good player 2 years ago, alas things have moved on. May struggle to win, but also shouldn't lose heavily.
Overall - weak.
Four Horsemen
Classical Greek, Spartan, 500BC - pray James doesn't turn up in the leather Speedos shouting "We, are Spartaaaa!!"
