German 37mm AT gun not able to fire infantry?

How come? I swear in BA they could fire upon infantry units. German Pak-36 had HE ammo.

EDIT: But, curiously, german AT rifle can..they were not sniper rifles, they shouldn´t be able to perform fire on infantry.

In BA they cannot fire HE at infantry. I agree that they should have this ability.

I think a US hand grenade is around 40mm for comparison, which is why most countries got rid of small guns and mortars. Rifle grenades were more effective.

Speaking of ATRs, when they didn't work against tanks anymore, they were used against guns. Not to kill the gun but the crew behind the shield.

I think the PZIII is the 50mm version but either way the 37mm gun should be able to fire HE.

Perhaps they didn't issue HE rounds to an AT gun crew?

You know, like the 76mm HVAP ... issued to tank destroyers not Sherman 76.

Anyway, it does sound like this issue was brought up before .... but not fixed .... yet .... maybe not.

Yes, the Panzer III looks like 50mm gun...which shouldn´t. This type of tanks were rare in that stage of the war, the main force of PzIII were the 37mm and dual MG mounting.

Btw, main Panzer force in France was made of Panzer II and I (why there are not Panzer I at all in the game? They were farily common).

Pak36 probably had some HE rounds just in case that pesky infantry gets too close. If they don´t at least they should have some kind of small arms defence (like 2 squares range or such). They are sitting ducks instead.

Our aim is to focus on the main roles of units and while AT guns may have tried to fire at infantry they would have had very limited effect at this calibre. So we just dont let you do it. Its the same reason you can't fire small arms at tansk to try and scare them.
