If you are tying to conquer the United Kingdom you must invade Canada and take Ottawa to conquer them. Very difficult to accomplish, Supermax being the only one I have ever seen do this.

Against the AI, it's not all that hard. Against a human opponent, it's nearly impossible in GS.

The place is Perm. This is a really, really stupid rule in the game. There is no historical evidence that the USSR wold have been able to continue the war, at least conventionally, with Moscow, Leningrad, Stalingrad and the Caucasus in German hands - quite the opposite infact.

Another really moronic game rule. With Britain in German hands the war against Britain would have been over, finished. Maybe the USA would have annexed Canada to guarantee protection, but that's another issue altogether. It's daft of the game designers to make assumptions that are not grounded in historical fact.

This is positively wrong. The Soviets were about to transfer their capital from Moscow to Kuibychev in late October 1941. The trains were at the railway stations to evacuate the Government, but Stalin decided to remain in the city.

There are also evidence that the Soviets had plans to move the capital to Omsk if the Germans got to the Urals. Many Soviet factories were transferred to cities east of the Urals to fight on from there. The Russians would not yield if the Germans had captured some strategic cities in western and southern Russia. The Russians would have been a bit crippled with a lot of production in Axis hands, but not defeated.

What do you base that assumption on? Have you heard about the British Commonwealth where the British had strong bases in Australia, India, Malaya, South Africa, Canada and many places in Africa. Just look at how the French fought on after losing France. Have you heard about Free France? De Gaulle mustered troops from several colonies and fought on against the Axis and didn't rest until Paris was liberated. Churchill and Britain were so determined to fight against Hitler that losing England would not have stopped the British from resisting. Do you really think the British would not fight on like De Gaulle did with the French?

This would be interesting as a random option or something that could be set in a mod file. Same thing with Vichy/Free France. I've played other WW2 games where having random options makes for more interesting play. Just because France surrendered a certain way in 1940 doesn't mean it had to occur that way in all cases. I know this has been discussed before but having the exact same events happen at the exact same time over and over gets boring. What if Hitler had somehow convinced Franco to join the Axis? That would really open up a Med option!
