Rivers

Post by Polkovnik »

We used a river for the first time in a game this week and a few questions came up.
We diced for it as Difficult, and found the rule saying you can only cross at within 45 degrees of straight across. However, we couldn't find any other rules pertaining to rivers, so assumed there weren't any others.
The questions that came up were :
Can you shoot and fight normally in the river (taking into account any disorder due to it being Difficult, etc) ?
Can you expand, contract etc whilst partway across a river.
If you are alongside a river, facing the direction of the river, can you expand into the river ? You would not be able to move, because of the 45 degree rule, but can you expand (to get more bases shooting or in combat).

Expansion and contraction etc are still moves, so I would assume that if any of these involve bases moving outside the +/- 45 degree arc then they are not permitted.
