Clients for multiplay and updates will not start

Post by Marius »

I have installed version 1.40. After installation the update client will no longer launch. I had never previously tried the multiplayer but it will not launch either. I am running a Windows 7 machine with 4 gig of RAM and it is up to date with all patches. I have check permissions on fognet and all seems in order. I have tried with firewall down and still no luck. Help would be appreciated!

Does it say 1.4.0 to the lower left of the screen.

Also exactly what happens when you select check for updates?
Exactly what happens when you select check multiplayer?

Thanks

Keith

v1.40 is in the lower left-hand corner of the screen.

When I launch either client, I get the message "Launching client, please wait". Then nothing happens.

Please can you try the following steps:

1. Start the game, and click 'Multiplayer'.
2. Press Alt+Ctrl+Del.
3. Go to the Task Manager.
4. Go to the Processes tab.
5. Have a look down that list and tell us whether fognet.exe is on the list?

Thanks.

When I looked at Processes, fognet.exe was not on the list.

Thanks for checking. That's a tricky one. I'm afraid all I can suggest is that you try uninstalling and re-installing.

Incidentally, if still an issue, what is your frewall software?
