I've had one game now and think we did something wrong but not sure.
Commanded shot.
- Are commanded shot a BG in thier own right? Ie do they get deployed by themselves as a distinct unit (ie placing them telegraphs where you are going to place the Manted they support?
- Do they count as a single BG towards total army Break? It makes a group of 4 unarmoured cav and the 2 supoprting commanded shot a bit of a liability.
- Otherwise are people usijng them as filler?

Commanded shot are the best! I wish I could have more than 4 in the early Parliamentarian forces.
>Yes, their own BG of 2.
>Deploy them at the same time as the horse they will support. I have a 2pak + 2 cuirassiers + 2 cuirassiers together in the order of march (usually last along with the medium arty).
They keep my carbines at even odds when going in against impact pistols. If the Royalist horse don't charge in (because they are at a - vs the protected shot) they take the carbines from the horse and the muskets from the commanded shot.
They'll keep unarmoured horse at even odds vs armoured ones.
They are somewhat fragile, but remember a BG of 2 gets a +1 on death rolls...so you need to give the things two hits to have a chance at killing them.

They are super alright but if they take a hit its good bye and yes to do count towards army break points. However I myself find them a troop type you can not be without. I stick them in with my Royalist cav and they can shoot at Parliaments cav before my boys charge in. I have also found them useful for keeping bothersome Dragoons at bay, but there they are a little more fragile to being forced to take cohesion tests since they are only 2 strong but are still unlikely to die from dragoon shooting.
Far from filler they are cavalry's best friend
