Ground scale

Post by BlackPrince »

When laying out the terrain for a historical battle what is the recommended ground scale for calculating how many MUs terrain features should be from each other?

It was better to leave disputing about the faith to the theologians and just run argumentative non-believers through with the sword (Louis IX).

In th rules it states that no terrain piece can be placed closer than 4MU to another piece, you can move it closer though if you get a die roll that allows you to move the piece.

The rules reference laying down of terrain do not cover a historical scenareo. The book does mention ground scale I recall, not with rule book. The best thing is to mirror the battlefield as best as possible. We have done a few games and it is fairly easy to do, if you have a map, look at the size of the units and deployment area for a rough guide to the terrain layout.

It's easy enough to work out the ground scale from weapon ranges.
I think it's about 50 paces per MU.
