2 shooting ranges from the same BG

Can a BG shoot at short range for part of its bases and long range for the other bases. Assuming that the targets are in range, visible and at priority.

I do believe they can - but it means all shoot with an arc of fire of 1 base width even for the bases shooting at long range.
