Here's a link on Ebay UK for more bases...you get to choose what sizes you want according to your army and you can have upto 120

Always good to have multiple options...I bought some recently and think they're great but I do get the point about figure handling but it's a choice anyway

I've used the MDF bases from East Riding Miniatures , which are fine, and come in a variety of sizes ...

... however, personally I prefer the steel bases from Precision Wargames supplies. They are 12 gauge, ~1.3mm thick, practically indestructible, and stick like glue to magnetic tape lining the boxes for transport. Again, the full range of sizes for 40mm and 60mm frontage is available. Of course, there is no disputing taste, and you make want thicker bases.
