Carrying armies around

Post by Eques »

What is the best way to carry one's armies around in people's experience? I don't drive.

I saw some backpacks designed for the purpose on e-bay a while ago but can't seem to find them on it now.

I have 15mm

Thanks

I've not seen a backpack designed for this.

I normally use either A4 box files or similar size plastic boxes (a variety are available from Hobbycraft or Staples) with Metal sheeting stuck to the bottom. I then have a magnetic strip attached to the bottom of the base so that it stays in place in the box. Both Metal and Magnetic sheets are available from games suppliers, but I find it cheaper to get them from: http://www.magnetic-paper.com/shop.asp?ID=9

An alternative is the small 2 level metal toolbox that is available from DIY stores. This has the advantage of being metal, so you only need to attach magnetic strips to your bases.

Any of these will fit in a holdall together with your rules, dice and other stuff.

I use plastic plano boxes with adhesive magnets on the bottom of the trays and metal on my bases or magnets.

Baggage train has nice stuff - some of it on wheels. They are at most of the conventions in the US.

There is also battlefoam stuff. Very nice but mostly for 28/25mm

I got one of these for my FoW stuff, they are light, easy to carry, and can be turned upside down, put in a bergan etc. But I generally drive so normally use a toolbox.

I can't drive and would second the KR cases. I have carried my Macedonians around in one.
