Confused about DAG?
Is Rise of Rome the only expansion that comes with the DAG GENERATOR? The other expansions mention nothing about the GENERATOR as a FEATURE just that they can have DAG armies used from them. So I want to know if EVERY EXPANSION after Field of Glory comes with ITS OWN DAG GENERATOR?
Well, DAG is in all army packs becuase you need it to made your armies.
DAG is in all army packs, the point is that in main page of DAG you see active the army packs that you buy, see in images http://www.slitherine.com/games/riseofrome_pc

Likley because it was a huge change to the basic game and only implemented with AND when the ist expansion , ROR came out...honestabe wrote:How come only Rise of Rome makes a big deal out of DAG GENERATOR then and lists it as a FEATURE and not the other expansion army paks?
Does it matter? Buy an expansion and start playing

Yes it matters because I don't want to buy one of them that doesn't come with a random generator. If it's a feature on one AD page then it should be listed as a feature on ALL the AD pages. For all I know the others are just DAG compatible and don't come with one the way the ADs read. Very bad marketing implementation very poor very lazy.
To be clear, all expansions come with DAG complete. It's not so much a random generator, but a way to build armies using the TT army lists based on a points total -- very useful for competitive multi-player games. I don't think I'ver played against the AI using DAG armies, so I can't say how well the AI does using this feature. And yes, DAG should be mentioned in every expansion blurb.

If you play a scenario the map is preselected. For DAG battles, you pick from 5 different terrain densities. From billiard table to the amazon rain forest. Against the computer it will pick a density then initiative is rolled if you win it is more likely to get terrain density you picked, if not more likely to be what the computer or your opponent picked. There are some random factors as to what is picked. The very dense option has a lot of swamps, steep hills etc on them for example in some cases.

"Just one more expansion and then I'll quit......No, really!"

I've got two words for ya: Math is hard.
I have only bought one expansion, the first one ROR The problem I have with DAG is that you are unable to set up or choose unequal sides against AI as far as the point total at the start. This defect is not made up by the allowing the adjustment the number of units lost to end the game. What keeps me playing is the large number of player created scenarios (60+) for the original and the first expansion. The newer expansions have few player supplied scenarios and with the previously mentioned defect in the DAG prevent me from buying more.
The question I need to ask is at what point will DAG will be fixed for an unequal point start and more scenarios for the existing expansions besides ROR.

This is on the longterm wishlist, however in the meantime you CAN have unequal DAG battles vs the AI
Just build say an 800 ap army, but only purchase 400 worth of troops...... When you load this army vs the AI it will build an 800 ap army to fight against you. Just make sure you name the army somehow to remind you that you only have purchased a reduced amt of troops so you dont mistakenly bring that army into a MP game!
