Are the update and MP servers down?

Post by mgdpublic »

For the last two days, BA has been flashing "Checking for updates" without resolving. When I continue into the game and go to my MP games, I never connect. Has the server been down or is there something wrong on my end? I have a working internet connection.

I just tried and connected in a few seconds. Did your firewall or AV update recently?
You can call me junk - and type that with one hand.

Microsoft SE did it's typical update but it did find two spyware/trojans , one of which changed a setting in my firefox to go to a proxy server. My internet didn't work at all until i changed it back. The two items were Cybot.B and PowerRegScheduler. Everything else is working except BA. Any ideas on what to do? I'm running Win7 64.

UPDATE: Ok I just rebooted and everything is fine. Rebooting--is there anything it can't do?

Evidently not - a whole IT support industry is based on it

Hmm, the issue is back again. I've run malebytes and it got everything that the Trojan supposedly creates. Everything else is working fine. Should I reinstall or can anyone think of a setting or simple solution I should try?

I doubt reinstalling will help. I recently had a virus I just cant get rid of so the PC is sitting waiting for someone to look at it. I think getting rid of the virus will solve the issue.
