We tend to clear out any games that are inactive for over a month. Apologies if this effected you. If you have ideas how we can deal with it better let us know :(

Maybe just have a resign or withdraw button. Make sure it is not time dependant. Also allow us to type in a message if we want to stop playing the game. Sometime you have real life get in the way after you have done a turn. Then you could log in and just cancel the game and notify your opponent. Most players rarely look at the forums, so this might be a way to handle it. The 2 games in question were dead games I think due to real life getting in the way of my opponents' play.

It would be nice to have but I think the reality is someone who has dropped out for reallife concerns likley isnt going to remeber/ have the time to send a message back saying he is quitting....

I think the best you can do is wait, pm the non responding player and then , if no response just use the claim game function...

That's true. Pantherboy have said in another thread that andersm73 can't finish his games and has left the league.

It takes weeks for you to be able to claim game. I would like to I guess have it available sooner.

(1) Make it a hard rule, not subject to human interaction. E.g., "Games that go for [x number of days/weeks/whatever] without a move will be automatically resigned by whoever currently holds the turn." That way it's nothing personal, and it's fairly applied, and you don't have to 'worry' about it. When in doubt, automate.
(2) Treat it as a normal resigned game in every other way so that it shows up on the 'Completed games' list.
