I am painting a later medieval army which I want to use for a Danish army circa 1400-1500. I am looking for models in 15mm of mounted crossbow. I have looked at Essex and they seem a bit early, Legio heroica don't look very armoured ( although I may go with some of them) and Mirliton look a bit Swiss.
Any suggestions? The more the merrier because I want a good mix of poses in the units of this army.

The mirliton mtd Xbow from the cummunal range are good for less fully armoured troops.will05 wrote:I am painting a later medieval army which I want to use for a Danish army circa 1400-1500. Donnington & fighting 15's....thanks I'll check them out.
Thanks for the Italian Commune also, but I want something a bit later and more rather than less armoured. They are rated as armoured in FOG .
Do people think I could use this for later Danish: http://www.vexillia.ltd.uk/venexia/images/scangi06.jpg , or is it a bit too late. I am thinking of the flashy hat.
Also there is this: http://www.vexillia.ltd.uk/mirliton/images/cc22.jpg , or is the feather too Swiss.
I am not trying to be really historicaly accurate as I want these battle groups to be morphed into other later medieval armies, and I want lots of variety. So there is room for some artistic licence there, but I guess I should steer clear of wildly wrong things.

There are also the Vexillia Polish mounted crossbows http://www.vexillia.ltd.uk/vexillia/images/vxec006.jpg
I am planning on a mix of Vexillia, Donnington and whatever was left in the bits box.
