Multiplayer Error

Post by onone »

When I log in to the multiplayer area I can't see any games - just a message 'SERVER RETURNED AN ERROR : 1'

If I click on this it freezes, Ctrl+Alt+Delete gives this ERROR message 'item < (s4)mAccepts.NumElements().\LanLobby.cpp(2587)'

Any thoughts?

That's very odd. At what point do you see that? Are you able to login using your username and password?

Cheers

Yes I can login fine, I can see all the tabs and buttons, just no games to choose, in their place the 'SERVER RETURNED AN ERROR : 1'

Note I've updated the details in my original message.

Also note, I've only had the game a week and this is the first time I've tried to do a multiplayer game.

If you copy and paste the contents of the error.log file (found in My Documents\My Games\BBCBA) immediately after a crash, it will provide more details. Also, what is your system spec (version of windows, CPU, etc).

As for the error, do you have any especially altered IE settings (e.g. to not allow any cookies etc). If you can login but not see any of the listings, that seems to suggest that the session validation isn't working.

Hopefully we can get you up and running.

Cheers

:D Brilliant, sorted, sorry I didn't know the system required IE (I'm a Firefox sort of guy), opened up (the nasty) IE, swiched on cookies, works a treat. Thank you.

And thank you for continued support of PBEM.

It's more that IE and some of the internet functionality are tied together. Even if you uninstall IE, you never really do ;).

Glad you are up and running!

Cheers
