Impact with unequal # of bases

So you are recommending conforming before resolution of impact?
I can see both benefits and objections to this idea.

Benefits: Tidies up the lines. Allows the charger to choose his target bases.

Objections: Gives the charger too much control of the impact combat. Reduces the effectiveness of interceptions.

Not one we had considered yet but worthy of some thinking. Will come back to that one. Does get more 4 vc 4 dice combats at impact.

No it doesn't, it just means the charger gets to fight the easiest opponent at impact, instead of the player with most bases in contact choose which fight.

Nasty side effect we wouldn't want so will need to get some figures out and have a think.

Charge to contact rules have always been a problem in wargames. FoG does them better than any of it predecessors. I don't see anything broken here.

Agree. There are other things that need to be looked before this. For example El being 3 dice per based at IMPACT only would be a better thing to try out than changes to this.
