Anzen 838AD Scenario

The Arab Caliphate invaded the Roman Empire in 838AD with two armies. The northern army, led by Afshin, advanced to Anzen (Dazimon) where it was confronted by the Romans led by the Basileus Theophilos. The Roman attack was initially successful, but faltered when the Arabs committed their Turkish cavalry. The Basileus Theophilos barely escaped from this humiliating defeat.

nice scenario, thanks...i noticed that 2 muslim african units are average, while the rest is poor...is it intended or an oversight?

It was intentional. I was trying to keep the Arab left flank from falling apart too soon.

Nice fast playing scenario with lots of cavalry and missile troops. Only problem is the Turkish units graphs were not supported (I only have SoA). I played the Romans and my left wing was fighting invisible ghosts... Nevertheless a fun scenario: Romans 26 break points / Muslims 36 bp.

The scenario was updated on 11/26/10 after the release of FOG v1.4.
