Regimental Gun Models

I just purchased the figures for an Imperialist Spanish army from Testudo, and although a bit pricey, I am very happy with them. But I also want to be able to morph this army into a Later German TYW one. For that I need some unarmored pike and regimental guns. I was thinking of ordering some of the pike, along with some dragoons from Donnington, in order to mix things up a bit, and I thought that I would order the regimental guns at the same time. I already have some of the medium guns from Testudo, although they also offer light guns, that I'm sure that I could use as the regimental guns. Donnington also makes a medium gun, along with limbers, but they do not make a light gun. Does anyone know if the Donnington guns are smaller than the Testudo guns, and if so, would it be possible to use these as my regimental guns?

I don't know whether they are smaller, but I do know they aren't small enough.

The best bet is probably to use guns from a 10mm (or 6mm) range for Regimental gun markers.

I'm doing 10mm and am using a smaller cannon than my others, but still mounted on a 40x40 base so I can use them as something else if I want to. I was assuming since it was just a marker that this should not be a problem right?

RXE5 Light cannon (2 per pack). From Essex Miniatures will fit on a 25mm deep base.

Just a quick note. Donnington do a light gun which is the The Age of Turenne and Montecuccli section. In fact they two,

one of which is specified as swedish. They are on codes TYG01 & TYG02. Hope this helps.

Peter Pig's "Regiment of Foote" range has a "Very light Gun" which is spot on for a regimental cannon as far as size is concerned, PP is notably smaller than Testudo and should work well as a RG marker.

I use the light gun from the essex range they fit on the 20mm base just mind you.

The gun is tiny, but the carriage is relatively large, so that they won't fit neatly on a 25mm deep base.

I spoke to Damian (of Donnington Miniatures) yesterday at Derby, re the need for Regimental Gun Markers, and he is going to look into making them specially.

Also, as he only lives 4 miles away from me, I can send the boys round to beat him up if he does not comply.

This is the only preserved Swedish regimental cannon, a 1:5 model from 1632. http://www.digitaltmuseum.se/things/mod ... /AM.061488 Because the fiendish Prussians melted down the only surviving regimental cannon some time after 1815 (It was kept in the Stralsund artillery depot) this model and the drawing of the Stralsund cannon which I posted previously in another topic are all that remains.

This is clearly what the Donnington model is based on. Unfortunately the carriage is too large to fit on the Regimental Guns base - hence my suggestion to use a 10mm scale model.

For the Battle Reports that Madaxeman has done, is that what his Regimental guns are? Complete with crew? If so, I like that idea.

If one was to order 10mm regimental guns and crew for shipment to the USA, any recommendations?

RAFM has a couple models in 25mm that might work. They are dated for 1759...opinions anyone on if they would be suitable?

I have a couple of the 4 pounders. They will fit a 40mm deep base (back end just inside the back edge and the front of the wheels just in the front edge along with the front of the gun).
