Scrumpy, I don't suppose it makes much difference if Torres rests on Pompey's treatment table or Anfield/Stanley Park's treatment table.

On topic, given that Anglo-Spanish combination, which lists do you plan to use from T&T?

Timmy,

An unfit Torres would still be more of a threat than Nugent.

As for which lists intrigue me I guess

ITALIAN WARS FRENCH
TRASTÁMARA SPANISH
NORTH AFRICAN STATES
CAROLINE IMPERIALIST
EARLY IMPERIAL SPANISH
FRENCH WARS OF RELIGION – CATHOLIC
FRENCH WARS OF RELIGION – HUGUENOT
EARLY EIGHTY YEARS WAR DUTCH

Those Swiss keils are virtually unstoppable it seems, faced 3 of them last night in a Italian wars French v Caroline Imperialist beta game. It really is depressing when you roll 3x6s with your artillery to hit one of them monsters, and they just shrugged their shoulders and moved 4" nearer per turn.

Italian Wars French really is the best Swiss army in FoGR.

Is'nt it just 4's to hit them since they are three deep ranks

Yes' the 4th die rolled a 1. We read it though that they count as supported for cohesion tests as long as they are keils.

So they had a net 0 roll, the - for 1 hit per 2 bases and artillery fire being negated by + for support and a TC. The trouble is even if you manage to disrupt one of those monsters with firepower on the way in, there are still 2 more steaming over towards you at 4 mu a turn. My opponent admitted he made an error in not getting his LF out of the way in time to get a charge in. We both still have a touch of a&m mindset.

The early games seem to create the a&m thoughts as the troop types are sufficiently similar. In the end the only way I found to disrupt the Swiss was to kill a general after beating him 6 v 5 in melee with my overlaps doing their part.

I used the colunella version of the Caroline list, I can see why they swapped to Tercios' next week we plan a rematch but post the 1534 changes.

In FOGR the Swiss feel more like Swiss. I think the FOGR keil rules represent the Swiss far better than FOGAM does, and would use FOGR for 15th century games as well.
