Army packs and updates

Forgive me if it is a silly question:

i know about Field of Glory just from the very first beta testing so i know only the Filed of Glory pc core game.

Now i wish to buy it (after a long time i know ) but i am a bit confused by add ons and patching.

If i understand correctly:

The patches apply to the core engine (FOG)

The Army packs just allow the player to fight with some new army and allow the player to have a wider range of choice in multiplayer game.

So, for example, i may buy FOG core game + Storm of Arrows and Rise of Rome but not Immortal Fire (or another choice among those above) but i can through the live update have the game patched to the very last patch.

Is this correct?

Or not?

That sounds correct as far as my understanding goes.

In two words (i was rather confusing i see) patches are not affected by army list updates.

The first add on (RoR) originally included the first patch so there can be issues with applying the original verison of that versus patches in the worng order. I think if you are just buying things now there shouldn't be any issue.

Yep, the only problem with army packs are in the early ROR release, 1.0, with this you need install over ROR 1.0 the last patch but this is only if you have this version, Slitherine say that in a future they are going to provide to all that have the old 1.1.0 version the modern one. Rest of army packs are only add-ons of armies and you can install first patch or army pack as you prefer.

Finally i am here.

Downloading now Field of Glory and bought with all the three army packs (i realized just today there was a bundle offer in slitherine for 20% discount for army packs... nice ).

Nice to jump again in this game after the beta test of the core engine.
