von Mansfeld's English troops

Post by Scrumpy »

Got some spare pike bases and wanted to do the flags for the above had a couple of questions.

Would they have used English flags, and would they have been later tercios or a 4 shot 2 pike formation ?

Cheers

Sadly the only references i could find about Mansfelds army don't give a flag depection all the say is Red regiment ect. Mind you there is a presedence for it happaning, the scots regiment fighting for the Danes(Mackays) used a Scottish flag with a small Danish flag stiched on to the top left(pole side) of the flag. I think there was at most three regiments of English/Scots in Mansfelds army.

Since the Early Protestant list states you can have troops before 1626 in LT as well as 6 base units I would think you could have either.
